the exchange

the morning air
is a gentle breeze
refreshing my body
refreshing my soul
refreshing my spirit.
as i breathe in pneuma
that Holy Spirit breath
at the dawning
i breathe in life
and exhale the old
exchanging night's
oldness for new life
at the beginning of day.

"...he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit [pneuma].'"  ~ John 20:22

  1. Yes, yes! I desperately want this exchange. I've just gone through 16 days of internal ugliness, and finally, after the Holy Spirit's faithful working, it broke today as I repented and received His forgiveness. He helped me exchange anger and bitterness and pride and disdain for grace and love.
    **ahhhh**

  2. Yes Monica, we all need this exchange continually. I love John 1:16, "And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." Or I've also heard it as "grace in exchange for grace", which I also like. We experience grace, then when we come to the end we exchange it for more grace for the next need, so that we never run out of grace. We just live a life of exchanging! Isn't that encouraging? :)
