"Enjoy Me" ~ poem by St. Teresa of Avila

" 'Enjoy Me.'  Just these two words He spoke changed my life." ~ St. Teresa of Avila

What a burden I thought I was to carry -
a crucifix, as did He.

Love once said to me, "I know a song,
Would you like to hear it?"

And laughter came from every brick in the street.
And from every pore
in the sky.

After a night of prayer, He
changed my life when He sang,

"Enjoy Me."

  1. I am SO glad you posted this.

It's a similar message of what He's been saying to me. This relationship is for mutual and deeply satisfying enjoyment.

I love how you said it!

  3. Ah Brenda, I wish I'd written that...I love it. I guess I didn't write the post well to give Teresa the credit for all the words, so I just adjusted it in the posting so hopefully it's more clear!

It's all her words, and of course you can repost it - she'll just be your guest blogger :)

I love that the Lord has been speaking about enjoyment to you...it changed so much in my relationship with him when I came to that realization and experience! Awesome!

  5. Thanks, "overflow".....and thank you for visiting and commenting. I like the title of your blog, and I LOVE the verse that is in your header. I learned a chorus years ago with that verse set to a beautiful tune and it always speaks deeply to me. He has done sooo much for us!!
    Blessings!

  8. Pam,

This is also in Ann Voskamp's book, One Thousand Gifts, which I just read. When I saw it there on p.218, I immediately thought of you and your post here.

    You are wonderful!

    You've been OK?

  9. Monica,
Thanks for letting me know that! I just received that book recently but haven't had a chance to read it yet.....Thanks too for inquiring about how I'm doing. I'm doing fine, I've just gotten distracted away from writing by photography lately....A picture is worth a thousand words, right?? ;) It's certainly quicker for me than trying to put my thoughts down on paper! ;)

I enjoy lurking on your blog.....Blessings on you!
